What is meaning drift?

Meaning drift is the slow distortion that happens when text gets rewritten: each individual change looks harmless, but the sum changes what the text claims. Common forms:

The Light rewrite level changes the least structure. For content type, Professional and Academic modes carry the strictest preservation rules — names, dates, numbers, citations, and uncertainty language are explicitly protected.
